Stanza art. Generative system manipulates image feeds

Memory in Bits from 2006 by Stanza

Available for exhibitions only. Custom made software for exhibition. Hi res 1920 by 1080. Generative system manipulates image feeds. Available for exhibition on large screens.

Made using custom code which then manipulates images from networked systems. The software version at 1920 by 1080 pixels resolution is to be exhibited as triptych of screens with each panel showing a slighly different variant of the code. The title refers not only to our own fragments of memory but the bits of the computer system.

(A bit (short for binary digit) is the smallest unit of data in a computer. A bit has a single binary value, either 0 or 1. Although computers usually provide instructions that can test and manipulate bits, they generally are designed to store data and execute instructions in bit multiples called bytes.).( memory is the process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved.)

NOTE. The online versions have been taken down as of 20.8.2020 as they no longer work through a browser due to shockwave technology being made redundant.
